This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who has access, and the rights you have. It's written in plain language. Where law requires specific terms, those terms appear where they belong.
This Policy applies to the CAMP8 mobile application, the camp8app.com website, and any related service (collectively, the "Services"). Region-specific rights for users in the EU, UK, California, and Singapore appear in section Regional rights.

Personal data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable person. In CAMP8, this includes:
• information you give us directly — your name, email, password, profile photo, sport preferences, gear, the cities you train in, and the events, communities, places, and products you save;
• information generated by your use of the app — what you search, what you save, when you open the app;
• information your device shares automatically — device model, iOS version, language, and (with your permission) location.
Aggregated, anonymized statistics — for example, how many users in a city are interested in trail running — are not personal data and aren't covered by this Policy.

You're in control of the data we hold about you. You have the right to:

• delete your account and the data tied to it;

• withdraw consent for processing that depends on it — push notifications, location;
• complain to your data-protection authority (see section Regional rights).

We collect next categories of information.
Information you provide. Your name, email, and password. As you use the app, you may add: sport preferences, gear (footwear, apparel, devices, accessories), trip plans (cities and date ranges), favorites, and a profile photo.
Information generated through your use of the Services. Which events, communities, places, and products you save. Which cities you set as your active training base. Which sports you enable. Basic usage data — session length, feature interactions.
Information collected automatically. Device model, iOS version, language, time zone, and a device-level identifier provided by iOS. We use this to operate the Services and ensure compatibility.
Location, if you grant permission. With your authorization, the app uses your approximate or precise location to surface nearby events and places. You can revoke permission anytime in iOS Settings.
Push notification tokens, if you grant permission. If you enable push notifications, your device registers a Firebase Cloud Messaging token with us so we can deliver alerts about new events and saved items. The token is tied to your account and is removed when you sign out, disable notifications in iOS Settings, or delete the app.
Your personal data comes from you, your device, or your sign-in provider — nowhere else. We do not buy your personal data, do not accept it from data brokers, and do not build profiles of you from social media.
Separate from your personal data, the events, places, communities, gear, and stores you discover inside CAMP8 are aggregated by us from public sources and curated by our team before they appear in the app.
That curated content is about places and things, not about you.

We keep personal data only as long as we need it:
• Active account data, saved items, profile data — for as long as your account is active.
• Trip plans — for as long as your account is active, plus a limited period after deletion for backup recovery.
• Authentication records — for the duration of your account; deleted with your account.
When you delete your account from Edit Profile → Settings → Help & Support → Delete Your Account, your profile, favorites, trip plans, and personal data are removed from active systems immediately. Limited technical backups may persist for up to 30 days before being overwritten in the ordinary course of operations.
• Active account data, saved items, profile data — for as long as your account is active.
• Trip plans — for as long as your account is active, plus a limited period after deletion for backup recovery.
• Authentication records — for the duration of your account; deleted with your account.

No system is perfectly secure. If a security breach affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant regulators as required by law — typically within 72 hours of becoming aware.
